Proven as a one of the hottest new talents in world golf today Nikki Garrett has enjoyed a fantastic start to her professional golfing career. Competing on her first professional tour, Nikki finished 12th on the overall money list.She then went on to secure the prestigious Ladies European Tour 2006 Rookie of the Year title after playing amazing golf across a long and demanding tour.
Nikki played such fantastic golf throughout the 2006 European Tour that she became part of a playoff in the Finest 18 competition that rewards ultra consistent golf—finishing 5th from a tour of 126 players. Nikki was also very successful in the highly regarded Volvo Challenge competition in 2006—finishing 9th on tour. Nikki is greatly looking forward to completing the European Tour 2007.
The 2007 season promises to be an immensely exciting one for Nikki. Nikki has already represented Australia at the World Championships in South Africa in January finishing sixth.
Nikki’s profile rose dramatically during the February’s two major tournaments in Australia after heading up the Australian element of glamour golfers. Nikki has just recently secured her second Ladies European Tour title all within a few weeks with a final round two-under-par 70 at the Ladies Spanish Open in Castellon on Sunday 13th May 2007 and is currently the leading money winner.
Nikki has also chosen to appear in the Top Shots Australian Women of Professional Golf 2007 Calendar which will raise money for charity. A percentage of profits from sales will be donated to the McGrath Foundation for breast cancer awareness and support. Also a percentage will help fund a scholarship program for young female golfers through the Australian Ladies Professional Golf Association.
